I know I’ve been neglecting my blog lately, but I at least have a valid excuse this time. Four weeks ago, I received two emails on a single day, both inviting me to speak at two different Dutch events that will be held in the same week.
I replied “yes” to both mails, and since have been preparing my sessions. For those readers who would like to catch me speaking, I’ll give the details below.
For the “Software Developer Conference 2007”, to be held in
- “Verbeter de performance van je database in zeven simpele stappen” (Seven simple steps toward improving performance of your database).
- “CLR User-defined types in SQL Server 2005”
And for the meeting of the
- “Aan de slag met SQL Server Service Broker” (Getting started with SQL Server Service Broker).
Note that all sessions will be held in Dutch, so if you don’t speak Dutch, you’d probably better go to Denver instead.

Hi Hugo,
Because of global warming, the event one mile up the sea level in Denver is clearly preferable to the event below sea level in Holland. Good luck with your sessions anyway ;).
Alex,
I don’t think Arnhem is below sea level, Amsterdam is a different story (15 feet below sea level) 😉
Arnhem is all they way east towards the German border
Denis
Since I’m living well below sea level, in one of the Dutch polders, I’m not really concerned about speaking below sea level. 🙂
For other reasons, though, I’d have prefered to be in Denver. Unfortunately, I was not able to afford a third trip to the States within less than 12 months, so I had to let Denver pass (pun intended) – I’m glad that I can at least compensate a bit by visiting these two Dutch conferences.
Next year, I will very likely visit PASS again. I might even present a session (if the organisers allow me to).
Let me guess, Flevoland?
